ウクライナ研究者・学生支援オンラインセミナー(第一回 TF-YUCaNカーボンニュートラルセミナー)開催

2022年2月に始まった、ロシアによるウクライナの軍事侵攻により、多くの人命が失われ、都市が破壊されています。ウクライナの大学等学術研究機関の研究者や学生は研究や学習の場を失っています。平和を取り戻し、ウクライナを再建するためには、欠かすことの出来ない文化の先導者や、同国の未来を創る若者が大きな困難に直面しています。私たちYUCaN学生部会は、現地の研究者や学生の生の声を聞き、世界平和と持続可能な未来の発展について共に考えるため、現地と日本をつなぐオンラインセミナーを企画しました。

セミナーは、2022年 6月4日(土) 15:00より、Zoomによるオンライン形式で開催します。登録は無料で、どなたでもご参加頂けます。使用言語は主に英語ですが、講演者から頂いた要旨の日本語訳をご登録頂いた方に配布いたします。質問・コメント等には同時通訳で対応致します。

今般の戦争初期に激しい被害を受け、平穏を取り戻しつつあるキーウ、チェルニヒウ、イルピンなどの各都市から、戦争が及ぼした影響や、その中での研究教育活動の継続についてお話頂き、平和と復興に向けた課題、国際的支援へのメッセージ等を現地から届けて頂きます。また、ウクライナ国立学士院半導体物理研究所と山形大学工学部の間には長年の国際共同研究があり、その研究課題についてご説明頂くと共に、共同研究の継続が困難となっている状況をお話頂きます。詳しくはプログラムをご覧ください。

連日の報道のとおり、今ウクライナはその未来が全く見通せない状況にあります。今回現地からご講演頂く方々につきましても、講演が出来なくなる不測の事態も予想されます。その場合は当該講演がキャンセルされることもあり得ますのでご了承下さい。

現地の声に耳を傾け、ニュース映像だけでは分からない、戦争の実態を知りたいと思います。苦境に立つ同世代や大学の状況を知り、国際的支援の在り方を考えると共に、現地に激励と支援の声を送り届けたいと思います。また、持続可能な未来を共に創り上げていくための国際的協調の重要さを考える機会としたいと思っています。

Online seminar for researchers and students of Ukraine

(The 1st TF-YUCaN Carbon Neutral Seminar)

Many lives are lost and cities destroyed in Ukraine since the military invasion by Russia that started in February 2022. Researchers and students in Ukrainian academic institutions and universities lost their places of study. Cultural leaders and young generations to rebuild Ukraine are facing tremendous difficulties now. Students’ division of YUCaN (team future YUCaN, FT-YUCaN) wishes to organize an online seminar to connect Ukraine and Japan to listen to the voices of Ukrainian researchers and students, for us to think about world peace and sustainable development in future.

The seminar is scheduled on the 4th of June, 2022 from 15:00 (9:00 in Ukraine) via Zoom. Registration is free to welcome everybody. Mainly used language will be English. Abstracts are provided in English and Japanese to the registrants. Simultaneous translation will be provided for questions and comments.

The talks are given from various cities which got severe destructions in the beginning of war, where the battle have ceased recently, such as Kyiv, Chernihiv and Irpen, about the influence of war, managing academic activities under the given circumstances, and to send out messages for peace, rebuild of the country and need of international supports. There is also a talk about the long-lasting collaboration between the institute of semiconductor physics, national academy of science of Ukraine and Yamagata University, which is facing difficulties of its continuation. People of Ukraine cannot foresee tomorrow, as we know from the news reports everyday. Please allow us in case some of the scheduled speakers become unable to deliver their talks. In that case, those talks will be skipped.

We would like to learn about the “true face of war” by listening to the live voices from Ukraine. We would like to show our solidarity and supports to the same young generation and professors/staffs of universities, standing in great difficulties. This seminar may help us to think about the importance and challenges of international supports for our common and sustainable development in future.

We would like to thank the speakers, professors and students, who agreed to deliver their talks in spite of the present circumstance with great danger and difficulties. We sincerely welcome everyone of you to participate in this seminar.
